Dreamcatcher packaging

A little while ago I posted some pictures of a dreamcatcher I made for my sister as a Christmas gift, while looking for the right packaging I found the perfect box in TK Maxx, which on the lid says 'Hopes and Dreams (inside)'. To go with this I created a little card about dream catchers to go in the box as well.

Oh Christmas Tree!

As you may have noticed by now I am partial to the odd bit of glitter and colour (my favourite colour is rainbow), so its only right that our Christmas tree reflects this! I intend to keep adding unusual baubles each year until I end up with the most mismatched colourful tree! My brother bought me a unicorn and sequin elephant the other day to add to the collection. Most people I know are anti-tinsel, I on the other hand love a bit of sparkle so the more the better!

Cocktail Calendar photos

Here are some of the photos of the calendar, with the homemade paper bow and matching silver glitter covered pen!

Cocktail Calendar

Well the cocktail calendar is finished! Here are some pictures, I will add the photos tomorrow when I have some natural light!

Cocktail Club

Following the Cocktail week I did I have decided to make a Cocktail Club calendar with a different drink each month. I am in the process of making it now, pictures to follow next week!

It's Lord to you!

For Christmas I bought my brother a Lordship title, whilst we find it funny, knowing him he will take it seriously and it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to change his name! So since he is now a Lord I thought it only apt to make him a rosette to remind everyone!

To catch a dream...

For Christmas I have made my sister a dreamcatcher. It wasn't as hard as it looks, but time consuming! The hoop took the longest because rather than wrapping it with leather or cord I wanted it to be iridescent so I used cotton which as it is so fine took 2.5 hours to wrap! The webbing in the middle is one piece of string that is constantly knotted to create the shapes. For the tassels I used a mixture of feathers and beads, I painted the feathers with glitter which gave them a subtle shine. Whilst I love colour my sister on the other hand like much more muted colours so I thought best keep it light and neutral! I am also making a booklet/card to go in with the dream catcher so I will post that once its done! (Miso photo bombed the last picture!)

Always be nice to the Chef...

My sisters boyfriend is a Chef so for Christmas I have made him a cheeseboard with the quote 'Always be nice to the Chef' on it. I used acrylic paint as well as Molotow acrylic paint markers, which are brilliant for ease of use!

Santa got glittered

I have been making Christmas cards today using the illustration I did a few weeks ago of Santa. I gave cards a touch of glitter and I really like the way it finishes the card off, I will post more pictures once they're finished!

Lucky Ladies

I have been working on these little 'Lucky Lady' charms this weekend, and think they are so cute! Ive painted wooden beads and then threaded them so they can be hung on bags etc. I have designed the little envelopes with the lucky scratch an reveal as well. Hopefully I can get these into some shops and on Etsy soon!

An open brief

Recently I took part in an open brief which was:

Using the text provided below we want you to design 3 A4 posters for 3 very different types of outlets, a gastro pub, a restaurant and a 5 star hotel. We want you to show how the same information would be displayed giving their 3 different target markets. The copy being ”Buy 2 large glasses of wine with your meal and receive the rest of bottle free”

These were my responses, I created a second version of each as well, see if you can tell which is which!

Watercolour

I went to visit my sister recently and and saw these paintings that I forgot all about, which I did for her a few years ago! She really likes Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) so I painted a watercolour of his face. I also did a painting in the same style, with my favourite quote - 'Be who you are and say what you feel, because those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind' by Dr Seuss. I might have a go at doing some more in this style soon.

The camels have arrived!

The Dubai camel themed christmas cards that I did recently have arrived! I got them printed through moo.com and as always they have been printed lovely!

Cocktail Week Day 7: B-52

This is more of a dessert in a glass, tasting just like terry's chocolate orange! The layering takes a bit of time, but unless you knock it back in one go its nicer to stir it all in any way, the layering is more for presentation!

Cocktail Week Day 3: The Twister

One of my favourites! Created by myself in a roundabout way.... A few months ago I was in the bar which my sister was managing and she had some strawberry infused vodka for a cocktail she was making which looked rather nice, so I suggested a bit of lemonade and lime... and the Twister was born! Why? Because it tastes just like a twister ice lolly! Delicious!

Strange though its called a Twister and its served in a 'hurricane' glass!

Cocktail Week Day 2: Peach and Blackberry Bramble

Considering I don't like Gin (the Lidl advert springs to mind! But I don't like tea either!) this was so nice, I preferred it actually to yesterdays drink, definitely one I will be making again. Its ever so fruity and refreshing with a soft botanical taste from the gin - 4/5

Cocktail Week Day 1: Raspberry Lemon Drop

So here is the first of seven! The Raspberry lemon drop. It tastes just like sweets! Lemony and tangy to start followed off by a sweet aftertaste from the Chambord - I would drink this one again! It looks pretty too - because the Chambord is more dense than the rest it drops to the bottom creating the layered effect.
