Golden Ticket

This month was my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, so all the family chipped in to pay for them to have a long weekend in Barcelona as a surprise. As it was their Golden Anniversary I made them a Golden Ticket!

WH Smith Plush Pencil Cases

I recently designed some plush pencil cases for WH Smith. They are a new product for us and were very fun to design! All the characters have personalities and names with the swing tags revealing their favourite food, hobbies, birthdays and birth stones. Here are some of them below. Only Coco the cat, Wiggles the caterpillar and Lola the lady bird are missing. My cats found some new friends in them!

Me-Wow Back to School

The new Me-Wow back to school collection that I designed for WH Smith is now in store! There are 30+ products in the range and here are just a few...

WH Smith Wrap

I have done a few Christmas wrap designs, the one featured on their blog is below. The trees were hand drawn and then foiled on kraft for some extra sparkle. I am waiting on some boxed card design images that I created which I will also post soon!

Moderno Woman

Having had Moderno Man as an existing range, it was decided to create a complimentary range for women. In a contemporary pink and gold style Moderno Woman was created! For this range I chose materials, created the copy, designed the products as well as packaging. I always love a bit of pink and sparkle, so this is a favourite for me!

Moderno Man

Moderno Man was an existing range for WH Smith and I was tasked with developing packaging, design and material into a Christmas gifting range. Whilst some of the previous elements have been carried forward, I have chosen the new materials and redesigned the packaging for this range.

Me-Wow

Well I can finally post about my work I have done for WH Smith! First of all is Me-Wow, an illustration Christmas gifting range that I have done. I created the illustrations (aside from the floral print), packaging and the range name. As you know I love cats so this was lovely to work on!

Kate and Calum

My friends are getting married next week so I made this for them. I hand lettered it (not the bottom type!), and just need to frame it and maybe add some gold foil too. In November myself and some of the girls from work are booked into a modern calligraphy class, which I can't wait for. Hopefully I will be able to pick up some new techniques and improvements!

Update

Here are a few photos from the last few months! From the Bristol Balloon Fiesta to France where we went to stay with my grandparents. Look at the amazing Tipping Point machine that my Grandpa made, it has a motor and lights and everything! Reminds me of being little at the seaside in Mablethorpe on the 2p push machines! There is also the worlds tiniest garlic bulbs... homegrown none the less! And check out the cute pink ferry we went on in Portsmouth.

I have so much more to update in terms of design and illustration work, but as these days I do most of it for WH Smith I can't post the pictures until its out in the shops, which should be September/October time when they launch their Christmas gifting range and cards and wrap. So I will have to sit tight until I can post it then!

Ananda Yoga

Having done the Yoga branding for One Mindful Yoga, the client so kindly passed my details on to a friend of hers who was also looking to create her own Yoga branding. The lady approached me to design her a logo with a very open brief. She suggested perhaps a mandala or a lotus and was keen on using the coral and navy colour scheme. I proposed a few different concepts but this is what she settled on, and was very pleased with the out come!

Paperchase Pop-Ups!

A little while ago I found these adorable pop up cards in Paperchase, in fact I loved them so much I bought them all!

Lamp DIY

I have been meaning to do these lampshades for a long time now and finally got around to it! I bought some plain lampshades and then decorated them with pom poms (my favourite) and some vintage sari trim that I bought from eBay.

Clifton Suspension Bridge

Yesterday we walked over the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. As I am afraid of heights it was quite a mission! I had to look up the whole time so I have my husband to thank for these photos of the stunning views!

Bird House

Last week I found this lovely little birdhouse in TK Maxx. It reminds me of a barbie house! Unfortunately I am almost 6ft not 6inches so I won't be moving in anytime soon!

Stationery Galore

As you may have noticed I have a love for stationery and all things paper! Since working at WH Smith as a Product and Packaging Designer this has only enhanced! Especially with the bargains that I can pick up in the staff shop. One of the things I got was the Anna Sui book which cost me a whole pound and is infact a signed copy! We recently visited the Harry Potter studios where I picked up the bright graphic postcards. The graphic and packaging section was amazing there such lovely designs by MinaLima.

Dubai March 2016

In March I went to Dubai for what was supposed to be a surprise visit to my parents and brother (my secret keeping skills aren't so great when it comes to my Mum!). Whilst there we saw some lovely things including going to Taste Dubai which was amazing! So much good food and drink! Here are a few of the pictures...

Home is where...

My sister works in a bar and so nights are sometimes tiring and stressful so I thought I would make her this cross stitch for her birthday which definitely made her laugh! I wasn't laughing so much when I realised sewing is definitely not my forte! About 2 letters in I already thought I should have just done it in Photoshop instead! So this is certainly a one off!

Humour cards

A few years ago I made a couple of cards that used vintage photos with comical tag lines, so when I came across them the other day I thought I would make one up for my Dads birthday!

Shaker Christmas Cards

For the family this year I had a go at making some 'shaker' Christmas cards, which I was surprisingly pleased with how the turned out! They are actually a lot more straight forward than they look. Having cut out the circle frames I then taped some clear acetate on the back (which I cut out of an old box - ever the resourceful one!) and used foam tape to glue it to the card once I had dropped the sequins and glitter in. The foam tape just lifts it that bit to enable the sequins to move around freely.

Fish and Chip Guide to the World

My Husband is very partial to Fish and Chips, lets put it this way he used to keep salt and vinegar in his work van for his favourite snacks! So as a Christmas present I have made him a Fish and Chip review book, so he can keep note of the best and the worst wherever he goes!
